Verdict

BLAKEMORE AVENUE (5) can build on his much better third-up effort at the Sunny Coast, where she also had some trouble getting clear late. Is a three-time winner over this trip and should be at her top now. Bold showing anticipated. ALPHA BRAVO (1) resume and is proven fresh performer. The form around him last campaign reads strongly and he's track specialist. Sure to be very competitive. IRAMA (3) was poor in Saturday company at Doomben, but racing wide throughout gives him some excuse and his prior form measures right up. Thompson's booking is a good push too. GREYZOUS (6) caught the eye fresh when doing her best work late at the Gold Coast. Couldn't pay her supporters last time when sent out fav but was still okay. Gets weight relief and is worth following up.

Placed as favourite in a Class 4 at Gold Coast last start, finishing third to True Amor on soft ground after tracking the speed, though the beaten margin of just under four lengths tempers the strength of the run. She had earlier finished fifth in NMW grade after being slow away and closing off from well back. Honest enough for the placings, but must find more to win.

Had a genuine excuse when second last in saturday company at Doomben, with the stewards noting he raced wide throughout after being bumped shortly after the start. The start prior was a stronger guide, finishing third in a BM72 at Toowoomba and beaten just over a length by Superalloy. His Toowoomba third before that gives him a realistic place profile.

    Verdict
Produced her best run of the campaign when third in a BM68 over 1000m at Sunshine Coast, beaten just over two lengths after working home evenly despite some late difficulty getting clear. She was plain in a Class 6 at Eagle Farm before that, but this setup is kinder with weight relief and Tiffani Brooker back aboard. The strongest winning case.

    Verdict
Closed off soundly from well back when fourth in saturday company at Doomben, beaten four lengths by Propaganda in a CG BM78 after being unwanted in the market and held up late. He had also been held up at Toowoomba in a BM80 two starts ago, so his margins this campaign are not hopeless. Place hope if he gets clear running, but the win edge is not obvious.

Returns from a lengthy spell with a close second in a Gold Coast trial to suggest he is forward enough for this. He ended last campaign with a third to North Pole at Gold Coast on heavy ground after leading until the 150m, and his prior Doomben BM78 second to Shot Of Whiskey was beaten only half a length. Strong this track, proven at 1200m and Chelsea Baker knows him well.

Comes back to an easier meeting after finishing sixth in a BM68 at Eagle Farm, beaten just over four lengths by Keep It Real when there to strike but unable to finish off. His Sunshine Coast fifth two back was similar, with no late surge after settling rearward. Place claims only.

    Verdict
Battled on for fourth at Gold Coast Poly second-up, but was beaten nine and a half lengths after jumping awkwardly and covering ground when unwanted in the market. His previous run was a last of six in an Open at Gold Coast on heavy ground, beaten eight lengths. Has to lift sharply to worry the main chances.
