SMART MISSION (3) bombed the start last time and was always well back but stormed home for fourth, beaten 1.2 lengths, over 1600m at Rockhampton. Top run after a poor start and worth another chance. EAGLE WARRIOR (1) turned in an encouraging run first-up, settling well back then winding up nicely to finish sixth over 1300m at Townsville. Outdashed but got home well and appears suited by the longer journey. GOT GUMPTION (4) has been knocking on the door and has to be included. GENERAL GORDON (9) was disappointing when ninth over 1600m at Rockhampton, beaten 9 lengths. Won maiden this course and distance two back and can bounce back. KICKAGOAL KENNY (6) doesn't win often and will find this harder but a senior rider goes on and has the pace to lead. The winkers come off now. Can give a sight at odds.
