Drops sharply in weight with Grima's claim and maps to win again. DEFIANCE (1) undefeated in three starts for the Pepper yard and deserves his chance in Highway company. Showed blistering speed from the outside draw when he led throughout for a slick win over 1300m at Canberra. Since kept up to the mark with a 900m tick over trial. Sticky draw again and has genuine top three claims. BRAVE XENA (4) progressive mare who looks ready to tick the 1200m box. Comes out of a good rating contest after shouldering the 60kg for a game second over 1100m at Hawkesbury. Just under a month between runs and since fitted with a 900m trial placing. Makes plenty of appeal. MAINSTAY (3) well bred gelding undefeated in three starts. Will appreciate the extra trip and has each way prospects in this tougher contest. SPEEDY HENRY (6) can sprint well fresh.
