THE PEN IS MIGHTY (2) is an ex-Australian gelding with ability, and resumes for the Terry Powell local stable. He looks capable of making an immediate impression despite no local trials. This field is not strong, so respect the market moves. CENTANNI (1) is a lightly tried 7YO gelding who also resumes following a lengthy absence of about 4 years. He showed enough before the break to suggest he can pick up a win this year. MERRIAMA (12) made pleasing late ground when resuming over 1200m at Tauranga 3 weeks ago, and she shapes as though the rise in distance will suit. Expect her to be charging home strongly in the closing stages. Each way. FRANZINHO (4) makes his race debut after an encouraging trial victory at Taupo. The Tarzino gelding has drawn nicely, and any market support would add to the confidence. PACT (10) is heading the right way with her form, and will be trying 1400m for the first time.
