BILLY (4) was probably expected to have won a race over hurdles by now, but he is improving with each run in this role. He has been sharpened up with a recent hit-out on the flat, and he should go close to taking this out. COMEDY (5) is another who is surprisingly still a maiden in this role, considering the ability he had on the flat. He has been a cautious jumper up until now, and once he smooths out, he can win more than a race over hurdles. CARIGNAN (1) has adapted to this new role with zest, and posted an overdue win at Te Aroha in his penultimate start, and then was a game third on the flat at Hawera 2 weeks ago. Stick with him. SWEETTEST (10) is a nippy hurdler who just missed out by a nose at Hawera a fortnight ago, and her first win is not far away. PINKERTON (3) beat a lot of his rivals when winning his first race over jumps at Hawera, and he just loves this course with 4 wins from 7 starts. He is more than capable of repeating the dose.
