WHISKEY N' RYE (1) was not far off then at Whanganui last start over 1340m, and he will be trying a middle distance for the first time here, which we think will be ideal. The Kevin Myers stable love to win the amateur rider's races, and this fellow will be hard to beat. ZORBA (3) will ensure that the Myers team will have a strong hand in this race after he won at Hawera over hurdles for the first time a fortnight ago. He was a winner in a maiden amateur field here in July, and is an each-way chance again. TUKITUKI (7) has bounced back into form in his last couple of starts, and he is nicely placed at this level on a track where he has a good record. Stick with him. LITTLE THIEF (2) continued his fine form over hurdles when winning at Riccarton nearly a month ago by 5 lengths. He still retains plenty of dash on the flat, and the hat-trick beckons. QUILL (13) was terrible as the favourite at Hawera 2 weeks ago when following on from a bold second at Whanganui. Don't drop him yet.
