Verdict

ADRESTIA was mixing it in much better company this time last season and following signs of a revival at Goodwood in late-July, she could well capitalise on a drop in grade. Unexposed 3-y-o sprinter Hypnotised is feared most, with Canon's House, Maelstrom, Jer Batt and The Man other likely players in a wide-open sprint handicap.

Sturdy, low-mileage sprinter who's improved since being gelded. Still a work in progress when a neck second at Newbury (5f, good to firm) latest, may well have doubled his tally had he kept straighter. Very much respected on his current trajectory, for all stall 4 may not be ideal.

Recorded a quick-fire hat-trick for William Haggas last year. Now bidding to repeat the feat for current connections following narrow wins at Newmarket/Ascot. Entitled to go close back down in grade off 3 lb higher.

Won 2025 Palace of Holyroodhouse before capping a fine summer when runner-up in listed Beverley Bullet. Fallen a long way in the weights since and there were positive signs when beaten 4¼ lengths at Glorious Goodwood last time. Looks interesting down in grade with first-time cheekpieces added.

Hasn't won since his handicap debut at York last spring. Looked well but failed to build on the promise of his last run when beaten 4¾ lengths in a York handicap (working out well) latest. Needs a second look with sights lowered, though.

Doubled his tally in a big-field 3-y-o York handicap (5f) on stable debut in May. Has performed with plenty of credit since. Only beaten 1¾ lengths in a slightly higher grade at Chester (6f) last time, though that form has taken a few knocks.

Ran up to his best to land back-to-back wins for the first time in his career at Thirsk last month, though was very possibly advantaged by racing alone on the stand rail for the majority of the contest. Faces a stiffer task in his hat-trick bid.

Free-going sort who won back-to-back handicaps at Newmarket/Lingfield in June. Settled better than sometimes the case when running a cracker to go close over C&D latest. Handicapper has given him 3 lb for his troubles, though.

Revitalised back from a short break when landing a career-best success at Sandown (5f) in late-July. Seemingly found out by rise in the weights when beaten 5¼ lengths at Newbury subsequently, and a 1 lb reprieve probably isn't enough.

Lightly-raced 3-y-o filly who clearly hasn't been the easiest to train. Completed a double on nursery bow at Sandown last summer, however, she looked rusty on seasonal reappearance at Nottingham and now returns following further 3½ months away.

    Verdict
Had a tremendous 2025 on all-weather, winning 6 times at Newcastle (all at 5f). Best recent effort on turf (1-27) came when third over C&D on penultimate start and was probably unsuited by heavy ground at Beverley last time.
