Musselburgh

Hold-up type who capitalised on a much-reduced mark at Carlisle last month. Not seen to best effect (forced to challenge wide) when beaten 1½ lengths over the same C&D last time, and he's still fairly treated on the best of his form from last year.

Won twice off higher marks last year. Runner-up for the third consecutive start when again touched off by an in-form rival at Yarmouth (6f) in early-August. Can be forgiven latest start when caught deep on the track here and while stall 5 isn't ideal, he still looks well worth another chance.

Landed a gamble at Pontefract (5f, soft) in October. Tighter in the betting than previously this season when beaten 8 lengths at Nottingham in June. Potentially interesting returning from a break with Jason Hart booked, though stall 2 may not be ideal.

Free-going, 3-time C&D winner. Has been a tad unlucky on both starts in this grade this season, latterly when ¾-length second in refitted cheekpieces here. Remains on her latest winning mark and entitled to go well if headgear has the same effect.

Won a classified event at Redcar for the second successive season in early-August. Wasn't disgraced when beaten 2¾ lengths at Wolverhampton since. Elusive first handicap success probably evades her again.

Improved to make a successful handicap debut over C&D in June. Now back in a 0-55 for the first time since, and she's probably still in form, caught wide on the track when 3 lengths behind Royal Duke here latest.

Relatively lightly-raced 3-y-o. Shaped a bit better than the bare result when 1¾ lengths third in a similar event here on penultimate start. Again proved less effective on the all-weather at Southwell last time. Return to turf could be a catalyst for a bounce back.

C&D winner who notched a fifth course win at Ayr (5f) in July. Well-backed off a quick turnaround when winning in this grade at Wolverhampton latest. Been a while since he won off a mark this high, though.

Free-going maiden who was runner-up 3 times off much higher marks last year. Well below form so far this season. Has been given a breathing operation since latest start at Hamilton 8 weeks ago and interesting to see if the market hints at a revival.

Low-mileage 3-y-o who didn't build on the promise of her Ayr fourth when down the field at Hamilton last time. She does at least benefit from a drop in grade, and the draw has been favourable.

Best recent effort came when fifth in a messy 3-y-o handicap over C&D in late-April. Been in a lull since, though, and it's hard to be confident 11 weeks on from finishing 9¼ lengths behind Supremissy here.

Runner-up in novice at Musselburgh (5f) on final start for Iain Jardine in October. Made a slow start for current connections this year. Something to prove taking on her elders for the first time following 3 months away.

Over 2 years since his latest success in a C&D handicap. Offered little in 3 starts this season.
