COGNOSCENTI (2) looks to be very well placed in a 5-horse field fresh up from a spell, and his recent trail win adds further confidence to his winning claims. He benefits from a kilo claim, and is on top for us. SMOOTH OPERATOR (1) made plenty of progress last season, and resuming over a mile suggests that he has not missed a beat during his time off. Hard to beat as well. WAY OUT WEST (5) has been in terrific form through the winter, and she will have a fitness edge over her 2 main rivals. She has options early on from the pole position, and should be right in the thick of things at the business end of this race. O'RIORDAN (3) is also resuming from a spell, but it has only been a short break, so expect her to be firing on all cylinders here. QUEEN OF KINGS (4) is a local mare making up the numbers.
