HAMNER SPRINGS (5) is better than the wide-run 11th at Gawler suggests and his two wins at the distance keep him right in play. OR AM I (8) backs up quickly after having difficulty getting clear at Gawler and brings a solid mile record with a useful claim. Can measure up with the right run. DODD (11) is third-up after a sound Strathalbyn placing and fair Gawler fifth. Fitter and could be ready to improve out to this distance now.
