ARGENTUM ROCK (1) continued his run of fine form with a closing third over 1840m at Eagle Farm last start. Back in grade this evening but the question mark is whether he gets a strong 2200m at the first attempt - worth the gamble. MAHUIKA MAROI (10) improved sharply last time out at the second run of the campaign, beaten in a photo over 1900m at Ballina in heavy conditions. That effort suggests she is ready to tackle this staying trip. NUKATABE (13) was lining up for only the third time when he dominated a 1730m maiden at Grafton recently. Steps up sharply in distance but has plenty of upside and deserves the benefit of the doubt. TRIPLE TIME (9) is yet to be tried beyond 2020m but on a seven-day back-up is worth throwing in the exotics. EXPLOSIVE POWER (3) did a good job to fill a minor placing over 2000m on the poly track last start coming off a 30-day break. Should be cherry ripe at the fourth run back from a spell.
