KING PEDRO (11) is a progressive stayer who was given a perfect ride and proved far too strong for a BM90 field over 2400m at Rosehill last start. Emerging stayer who is just starting to realise his potential. Clearly the one to beat. ENCODER (1) tried hard but was beaten under a length in the Ipswich Cup over 2150m at his last appearance 26 days ago. Races well with the runs spaced. The last 100m is his worry but too classy to ignore. ETNA ROSSO (3) kept grinding away to get up for third in the Group 3 2400m Tatts Cup at Eagle Farm recently. Dour customer with eight top-three finishes in stakes races. Has the quality to take this out. SO YOU ARE (5) ran a promising stayer in Thebudgiesmugla to 0.6 lengths in the Caloundra Cup last start. Will run this trip right out. POUNDING (2) has forgotten how to win but his recent long-neck defeat by the classy Asterix was full of merit.
