He is probably looking for this trip and further now, and if he can find some room after drawing the pole position, then he is up to winning this. CONEY ISLAND (3) has been holding his form at this level since winning in BM65 grade here in May. He is very fit, and an each-way threat again. LIQUID LES (4) is a durable veteran who has raced his way into full fitness, finishing third at Hawera nearly 3 week ago. He could lead this field, and prove hard to peg back. Keep safe. RECONVENE (7) has come with sustained runs out wide to win his last 2 starts very impressively. Coming wide on this track when it is wet can be a big advantage, so look for him to be sweeping home late again. The hat-trick beckons. ILLUSTRIOUS (8) has been racing well this prep on wet tracks, and stepping back out to a mile is no problem. Stick with him.
