CARNIVAL RICHES (9) was out of the money first up at Tatura but never really got a crack at them. Was well-backed that day and is going better than that run suggests. Dealt a blow with the wide gate, but hopefully that just means she doesn't meet the same trouble as last start. LISA LASS (10) was allowed to drift back from an outside draw last time but found the line strongly to finish fourth, beaten 1.1 lengths, over 1412m at Echuca. Outdashed but got home well and appears suited by the longer journey. DETERMINATO (2) turned in a moderate run over this journey last time out, settling in a rearwards position and failing to make an impact when 12th over 1600m at Kilmore. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish. NEWCOMBE (3) is deep into the campaign now and has only won one race, but rarely turns in a poor run and only needs to hold his form to play a key role. FOREST JIM (6) didn't do much at the first four runs back but was an improver last start.
