ASTERIX (1) will appreciate the drop in grade after being well held in his last couple. Came from near last to win the Gosford Cup over 2100m three back which is probably the most reliable recent form reference. Has won two from four at this trip and is in the right race to add to that record. FUTURE HISTORY (2) gave up an early lead then came again to just miss in a driving finish over 1800m at Eagle Farm last start. Cherry ripe after a couple of runs back from a spell and is looking for this sort of journey now. FAWKNER PARK (3) has had two runs over the mile in Listed company this prep and not made an impact. Scored at his only other try over 2400m. Three-time Group One placegetter who finds the right race to return to form. ETNA ROSSO (4) loomed up on the corner in the Brisbane Cup last start but was gone a stride later. Struggling for form but this looks a more suitable assignment. POUNDING (5) surprised most in the Q22 last time. Big chance if that wasn't a fluke.
