Verdict

EXCEED THE SALE (1) improves considerably at each appearance. Lined up for just the third time and finished far too well over 1350m at Doomben at her last appearance a fortnight ago. An extra 50m on the bigger track can only help. Great chance to chalk up the hat trick. STAR OF THE BAR (5) raced on the pace and battled on well for third last Saturday over 1200m at Doomben. Gets to 1400m for the first time. One of the key runners on the seven-day back-up. SKY ALICE (8) won on debut two back at the Sunshine Coast then came from near the tail to finish alongside Star Of The Bar across the road to Doomben last weekend. Will love getting over a bit more ground with the longer run home. HIGH AUTHORITY (3) had every chance but was no match for Exceed The Sale a fortnight ago. Hard to see him turning the tables but a top four finish is on the cards again. COURTHEZON (4) has raced well all prep and with a soft run assured from gate two he should figure in the finish.

The race before that raced on the pace when 3rd of 8 in a 2yo Hcp at this track on July 25 over 1400m, on a slow track; long-neck behind Misato with 59kg at $6.50. Not sure there is much improvement to come - exotics only.
