Verdict

GIAPPONESE (3) has turned things around at the past couple of runs, most recently last Saturday when he drove hard to clock in fourth over this trip in the closest of finishes. Has a win and a close fourth from two runs over the mile here. Looks ready to win. ROBRICK (5) met with plenty of support but disappointed over 1350m at Doomben last time. Gets to the mile for the first time - he looked a little one-paced in that recent run so it might be what the doctor ordered. PURE ALPHA (6) found the line well to get up for fourth in a Class 6 over this distance at Doomben recently. Hasn't won for over two years but back in this grade third-up is a lovely scenario. WRIGLEY FIELD (7) has been in the market at all four runs this prep without success. Just missed in the same race as Giapponese at Doomben last weekend. Blinkers on might give him that extra length required. The consistent SLIPSAIN (9) will give them a start but watch for him in the closing stages.
