FIFTH FORCE (6) was a big improver third-up when rising to the mile third-up, where he only saw clear air halfway down the straight and knuckled down strongly to grab third. He's drawn to get back but from the draw, but keeps the 3kg claim and if the tempo is genuine, he can round them up late. CARNEGIE HILL (2) is the main danger if his latest wide run at Gold Coast is forgiven, with his previous efforts read strongly and his record around this trip a clear plus. GLOUNTHAUNE (7) hasn't won for a long time but had excuses last time when blundering and being held up. Still unsure what his best trip is but there's peaks there that would prove very effective if he can produce. SNUGG (10) comes through a metro company at Doomben where she was slow away and made late ground. Yet to tackle the mile but her splits suggest she will relish it. THE TORQUE FACTOR (5) dominated them last time here, so has to be taken seriously.

Comes off a dominant BM58 win at this track, leading and beating Maple Door by five and a half lengths as favourite with something in hand. That followed a sound BM65 third at Beaudesert, also as favourite, so his form is reliable. Has to be taken seriously off such a dominant win.

Went close in a country Class 2 at Grafton last start, finishing second and beaten a long neck as a well-supported favourite after travelling sweetly into the race. That followed a sixth at Gold Coast where she made late ground from the rear. A place would not surprise.

Worked home fairly from the rear when seventh in a metro FM BM68 at Doomben, beaten just under four lengths after beginning slowly. That was stronger company, and she had earlier run third at Dalby when well found in betting. Her splits suggest she will relish the rise in trip.

Had excuses when seventh in a Class 2 over 1200m at Gold Coast, racing wide throughout before being beaten six and a half lengths by Champagne Lane. The run prior in a BM70 at Doomben was much better, beaten just under two lengths after covering ground and charging home. Proven at the trip and rates a strong winning chance.

Closed strongly for third in a Class 3 at Sunshine Coast last start, beaten just over a length by Prochester after being held up in the straight. That was a sharp return to form after a plain BM70 run there, and his record around 1680m gives him the right platform now. Suited tackling the mile and looks ready to win fourth-up.

Had more merit than eighth suggests at Gold Coast last start, blundering on jumping and then being held up until the 300m before making some late impression. He was also within just under three lengths in a BM65 two back despite starting at big odds. Back in class gives him a hope.

Made no impression when last at Gold Coast over 1400m, beaten nine and a half lengths at long odds with no clear excuse. His Class 2 third at Beaudesert before that was better, although he was still beaten just under six lengths after being held up late. Has to recapture his better form.

Was plain in a BM70 at Toowoomba last start, finishing seventh and beaten just over seven lengths after tracking the speed without producing a change of gears. Her prior BM65 win at this track was stronger, coming from well back to beat Royal Gladiator at big odds. Place claims look best.

    Verdict
Finished fourth first-up in a BM58 at Toowoomba, beaten just under three lengths after racing keenly and being steadied near the 1300m. His previous run at this track in a BM65 was competitive enough when beaten a length and a half, with interference noted near the 500m. The class rise and his unplaced record from five starts at this venue make this a tougher assignment. Looking to others this time.

Comes out of picnic company after finishing fourth in an Open at Tabulam, beaten just over two lengths with some market support. This is a harder meeting, but she gets weight relief from the 61kg carried there and has won twice around 1680m. Minor claims only.

Was checked near the 1300m in a Class 3 at Sunshine Coast last start, but still finished last and beaten four and a half lengths behind Prochester, with Fifth Force clearly ahead of him. His previous Gold Coast run was also plain, beaten eight and a half lengths after settling rearward. Improvement required despite the softer setup.

Was only beaten just over three lengths in a BM70 at Gold Coast last start on soft ground, though he did not quicken when the race was there to be run. Two back he was beaten a long neck in a Class 4 at the same venue, so the recent form has substance. Has to sharpen late, but can land in the placings.

    Verdict
Was second last in a Class 2 at Doomben last start, beaten just over six lengths after settling well back and making no impression, and he was unwanted in the market. His prior third at Doomben had more merit at big odds after an awkward start and wide run, but he rises 5kg and is unplaced from five starts at this track. Others look stronger.
