OUTSPAN (4) had no luck in the Vain Stakes when buried in traffic at the wrong time yet still kept finding, and with natural improvement and a cleaner run he can bounce straight into the finish. GENESIS RUNNER (10) was a sharp Newcastle winner before the break and his recent trial win says he’s come back breathing fire. SAVAGRAM (9) dominated on debut at Canterbury by stretching them right out from the front and with Clark sticking he gets another big look rolling along. PERSIAN WONDER (5) only lifted very late last start but found the line well, and with a hot tempo expected he gets the perfect set up to launch. JOINT VENTURE (7) surged here last start when ridden cold and off a 42-day freshen they’ll likely look for cover again, keeping him in the mix late. Also keeping an eye on SOUTHEND (3).

He is resuming after a four-and-a-half months break. Finished off last preparation sixth of 12 at Randwick in the G1 Champagne April 18 over 1600m, 4 len behind Fireball with 56.5kg at $11. On debut won by 1.1 len Newcastle Paul Perry March 6 over 1300m defeating Skua with 57kg at $7. Looks a progressive colt that can cause a headache to the more fancied.

Has the fitness edge but will need to go up a rung or two to threaten.
