Wagga

Tomorrow, Flat6f
Verdict

MAGIC BUS (11) made the right sort of debut at Goulburn, finishing third to Bold Conquer after being bumped early and still having work to do in the straight. He was respected in betting, draws kindly in barrier 2 and gets Pierre Boudvillain, so the exposed run gives him the strongest winning platform. GOLD DECREE (3) is the danger on consistency, having run second at his past two and only gone under by a long neck at this track after racing wide throughout. The reservation is that 13-start maiden record, although his two placings from two runs at this venue keep him firmly in the race. EYES RIGHT (13) resumed with a solid second at Wagga Riverside and also has an Open placing at this track, with the 2kg claim adding to her case. SHEZRUSHIN (8) was bumped on debut and beaten just under two lengths, so natural improvement can put her into the placings despite the outside draw.

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last preparation with a seventh at this track, beaten six and a half lengths after being bumped at the start and settling rearward. His Goulburn third prior was much better, beaten just over half a length as a well-supported favourite. Prior Goulburn placing reads well enough for minor money if ready.

Made a highly encouraging debut at Goulburn, finishing third behind Bold Conquer and beaten just under two lengths after being bumped at the start and left with work to do. He was near the top of betting there, draws well in barrier 2 and has the leading track jockey aboard. Strong winning profile.

    Verdict
Returns from a lengthy spell after a consistent last preparation, including a close second at this track and a third here when favourite after racing wide and being forced wider on the home turn. Her latest trial was a solid third at Wagga, and she has placed five times from nine starts overall. Consistent maiden with genuine place appeal, though winning remains the query.

    Verdict
Has put two strong seconds together and was particularly good at this track last start, beaten a long neck by Colorado Sun after racing wide throughout and being eased near the 1250m. He had also been run down late at Corowa as favourite behind Wiser. Race fit, consistent and one of the key winning chances.

    Verdict
Bumped at the start on debut at this track and still finished fifth, beaten just under two lengths by Choc Chip after settling rearward and failing to quicken. She was near the top of betting there and had trialled third at Wagga beforehand, so there is scope for her to come on from the outing. Can improve, though barrier 13 makes the task harder.

    Verdict
Makes his debut off a narrow Goulburn trial win over 750m, which gives him some race-day interest, though the margin was only small and it remains trial evidence. The trainer has a 12% debut strike-rate from the supplied sample, while the full siblings listed are still winless. Has upside, but exposed race form looks stronger.

Resumed with a solid second at Wagga Riverside, beaten just over a length after leading and only being run down late on soft ground. Her previous run was a third in Open grade at this track on heavy going, which reads well back in a Mdn. The 2kg claim strengthens the case.

    Verdict
Made his debut at this track three weeks ago and finished sixth, beaten three and a half lengths after beginning slowly and failing to quicken when close enough on the turn. The market had him near the top of betting, so there was some expectation, and he had won a 1000m Wagga trial beforehand. Improvement is possible second-up.

Resumed with a sound third at Wagga Riverside on soft ground, beaten a length and a half after travelling well and finishing off strongly. That was a better effort than his Albury ninth before the break, where he lacked a change of gears. Minor claims only.

Debuts for the Gary Colvin stable after trialling at Wagga Riverside two weeks ago, finishing sixth and beaten 9.37 lengths. He was a $12,000 yearling purchase and does have siblings who performed well early, including Miss Scoop and Above The Law, but his own public trial was quiet. Tongue tie goes on and happy to watch.

    Verdict
Comes here third-up after a fair fourth at Goulburn, beaten just under three lengths by Bold Conquer when an outside chance in the betting. His first run this campaign was much plainer, beaten just over nine lengths at the same venue, and he was behind Magic Bus last start. Has to improve to trouble the main chances.
