Verdict

CRUISERWEIGHT (19) was scratched at the barriers last week when well supported. He's now off 35 days having been beaten at a short quote here last time out but the swooping win prior was in fast time and he sets up nicely here from the draw. ITAZURA (13) also scratched from the same race last week after drawing wide. He was impressive winning over this trip first up at Flemington from back in the field, if he can hold a spot from the gate here he'll take beating. ASAKURA (8) struggled first up in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes over 1200m. He'd gone through the grades nicely last campaign with close up efforts behind Sixties and NZ star Well Written. Up in trip suits although the draw isn't ideal. RECUPERATO (16) broke through for a strong win here last time and has claims, STYLISH (4) is better suited to this trip with Shinn on from a good draw.
