Verdict

CEANNDANA is back on a handy mark over hurdles and may well capitalise. Zoffman and Hopeful Hero look the main dangers in a race that's likely to be tactical.

Useful on the Flat/fairly useful hurdler. Went as close as he has in a handicap hurdle when ¾-length second to Smallcraftwarning at Gowran (3m). Still in good form when third in the Flat 6 days ago. Cheekpieces back on for return to hurdles and looks to hold a solid chance at the weights.

Gained a deserved first handicap success here (23f) last month. Shaped as if still in good form when blunted by more demanding conditions up in class in the Persian War at Chepstow (19.5f) 8 days later. Probably better suited than most if this becomes a relative of test speed (not much pace on).

Reliable sort. Justified solid support when doubling his tally at Gowran (2½m). Worth a go over this longer trip (stays 2¾m), though probably needs to improve for it.

Fairly useful sort who went close off this mark at Punchestown last autumn. In form over fences prior to unseating through no fault of his own in an amateur riders chase at Cheltenham last month. Leading chance at the weights back over hurdles.

Likeable type. Successful in 3 of his last 4 handicap hurdles, producing a career best at Gowran (3m) last month. Posted a fine effort when second over fences at Fairyhouse before taking a heavy fall at the third in a Grade 3. Will need to resume progress to make it a hat-trick over hurdles, though.

Useful ex-French chaser. Ran with promise in a pair of cross-country races at Cheltenham last winter. Shaped like a non-stayer both starts over conventional fences since. Respected off 3 lb lower hurdle mark (good-value claimer also on), for all there'll be bigger targets down the line.

    Verdict
From a good jumping family. Confirmed previous hurdling promise when winning a Kilbeggan maiden (form not worked out) in September. Didn't repeat that effort when well held on handicap bow at Punchestown (2½m), and he'll need to settle much better to get home over this longer trip.
