Verdict

CARDONETTE (9) has returned in great touch and gets the chance to flex more of her muscle where she should get a tempo to suit. Watch for Thompson hooking her to the outside and letting down strongly. PODIUM STAR (14) has built nicely into this with two close fourths and now has first-time blinkers to help sharpen him. Note winning hoop JGC reunites. BOSS MODE (1) is very genuine and had the better of a few of these last time. Has more to offer third-up, though will need a clever steer from the draw. NO FOOLING (4) has not quite delivered in two runs back but reunites with Maloney and is another will appreciate a strong tempo so he can launch late. LITTLE FELLA (5) holds some appeal fresh with two trials under his belt, though will need some luck from the draw.

Arrives in winning form after sweeping home from well back to win a Class 1 at this venue by just under two lengths as favourite. That followed a determined Mdn win at Gold Coast, where she overcame interference to beat Tszinsi. Has come back in great order and can bring up the hat-trick.

Resumes after four months and has won a Gold Coast trial, a useful sign for a mare who generally races well. She ended last preparation with a fourth in a BM70 at Sunshine Coast, beaten just over a length as favourite, and had been second in Class 3 grade at Ipswich before that. Barrier one helps her place claims.

    Verdict
Worked home well for fourth to Divine Source at this track last start, beaten just over a length, and that was a sound progression second-up. His Sunshine Coast BM70 fourth prior was better than the market expected after beginning awkwardly, and first-time blinkers now go on. Third-up, proven wet and looks a serious winning chance.

    Verdict
Went close at this track last start when second to Divine Source, beaten just over half a length after racing wide, so there was merit in the run despite starting favourite. He had won a Class 2 here the start prior, beating Another Cashie by a neck, and his 1110m record is strong. Strong track-and-trip record keeps him a genuine threat.

    Verdict
Was seventh to Divine Source at this track last start, beaten two and a half lengths after settling back and making only limited ground, with no obvious excuse. His previous Class 2 fourth behind Boss Mode was better, beaten a length and a half after picking up nicely late. Fitter third-up and has a place profile.

Has been honest in two runs this campaign, most recently third to Oohlalouvre at Sunshine Coast on soft ground, beaten a neck after giving a strong sight. He was also second to Lumens Lenny at Gold Coast when well found in betting. Drawn to give another sight.

    Verdict
Resumes after an eight-month break with two trials since last racing, which gives him some platform for a first-up run. He ended last preparation with a sixth at this venue in a BM68, beaten just under two lengths as favourite, and had earlier contested Open grade at Eagle Farm. Prior track-and-trip win gives him a solid place case.

    Verdict
Was sent out favourite in a BM70 at Eagle Farm last start but could manage only fourth, beaten three lengths after working home evenly on soft ground. The run prior was a more convincing Eagle Farm win over Exceed Perfection, and he has a strong overall record at the trip. Trip suits, but this venue debut asks for more.

Led and boxed on fairly when fifth to Divine Source at this track last start, beaten just over a length, which was not a bad effort but lacked a winning punch. His prior Moree Class 3 win was dominant by five lengths, though this is a different standard. Still has to lift on metro figures.

Resumes after five months and has won a Doomben trial, so there is at least a positive readiness signal. His final two runs last preparation were poor, including a last at this track beaten over 13 lengths when wide, and a Gold Coast Poly fifth where he was also posted wide. Place at best.

    Verdict
Resumes after five months away and has had two trials, with the latest third at Doomben expected to bring him on. He was last seen running third to Ave Cantare at Ipswich on heavy ground in a BM68, beaten a length, while his prior effort at this venue was only fair at long odds. Wide barrier and mixed track form make it a tough return.

Backs up quickly after a fifth in a BM68 over 1000m at Sunshine Coast, where he worked home evenly at generous odds and had an equipment issue noted. That followed a Grafton win over Battle Of Vienna, so his form has some substance. Prior Grafton win helps, but he has to lift against these.

Resumes after five months following mixed Deagon trials, with an earlier trial placing suggesting she may have more to offer. She ended last preparation with a seventh at Toowoomba, beaten eight and a half lengths after beginning slowly and being bumped, while the run prior was a close second to Black 'N' Deadly. Prior Toowoomba second gives hope, but she must rebound.

Has been well held in both runs this campaign, finishing last in a BM70 at Eagle Farm last start when beaten seven and a half lengths at long odds. He was also last at Gold Coast two back, again at big odds, and made no late impression. Recent form makes him hard to recommend.

Produced a solid Gold Coast second in Class 2 company last start, beaten just under a length by Champagne Lane after travelling comfortably near the speed. His Sunshine Coast fifth in Class 3 grade two back was also respectable, with a minor bump late. Soft-track record is thin, but he has place claims.
