Verdict

LOCKYER (5) is in career-best touch, scoring stylishly here in his last two. Faces an identical set-up and only needs to hold his form to be right there again. Wider draw the only knock. JUST PRECIOUS (11) is the obvious danger, unbeaten in two runs this campaign and coming off a BM85 win at Eagle Farm where she beat the airborne Gram after jumping awkwardly. FABULANTES (4) boasts black type form and should be hitting his straps third-up over a favoured track and trip. Certainly not forgetting about him. METAPHORICALLY (10) has put two on the bounce with strong on-pace runs. Expect Roper to be burning across from out there and give them something to catch. TEN DEEP (12) was only fair when resuming but is sure to have come on from that as she stretches to a preferred trip. Draws the A1 and is another that's right in the mix.

Has returned in excellent order, winning both runs this campaign and most recently beating Gram in a BM85 at Eagle Farm despite jumping awkwardly. She had already scored at this track in FM BM78 grade, digging in to beat Spiethtacular by a neck. Third-up and racing well enough to win again.

Resumed with a seventh behind Just Precious in a BM85 at Eagle Farm, beaten three and a half lengths after racing wide and working home nicely from back in the field. Her previous run was a Listed Silk Stocking seventh at Gold Coast, beaten just over three lengths in a well-regarded market line. Improvement second-up puts her in the place mix.

    Verdict
Drops out of the Listed Tattersall's Members Cup after finishing ninth at Eagle Farm, beaten just under three lengths, with stewards noting he jumped awkwardly and was steadied. His previous Gold Coast third in BM85 grade was solid after late traffic, and he is proven at this track and distance. Proven at this track and trip, suited on the back-up and clearly in the winning mix.

Second-up after a plain Randwick return, he was last in a BM94 over 1200m on soft ground when at long odds and made no impression from the rear. The run prior was better in the Listed Luskin Star Stakes at Scone, where he was beaten just under four lengths by Sun God after travelling near the speed. A placing is more realistic than a win.

Chasing a hat-trick after winning a BM78 at this track as a well-supported favourite, charging home from the rear to beat Cutepi by just under a length. That followed a Class 3 win at this venue over Enforceable, again finishing over the top. Clearly the one to beat.

Has put two wins together, most recently taking a CG BM78 at Gold Coast as favourite when he beat Moonan Quartz by half a length. His Ipswich win before that in CG Class 2 grade was stronger on the clock visually, clearing out by three and a half lengths on soft ground. First try at this venue, but winning form gives him genuine claims.

Ran another honest race when third to Just Precious in a BM85 at Eagle Farm, beaten two and a half lengths after tracking the speed and battling on. His earlier fourth behind Kintyre in Open grade was sound, though he had every chance in front. More a solid place hope than a dominant winning chance.

Worked home only fairly when fourth at Toowoomba, beaten just over a length by Worthy Enuff, and now comes from provincial grade into a harder meeting. His prior third in a CG BM78 at this venue reads honestly, though he was never a threat to Gram. The 3kg claim and excellent track-and-distance record give him some hope. No reason he can't make his presence felt.

Returns from a lengthy spell after closing last campaign with two seventh placings in BM88 grade at Randwick, each time beaten three and a half lengths. His trials at Doomben were mixed, though an earlier placing suggests he has something to build on. Capable at the distance, but others bring sharper credentials.

Had a case to improve on his Eagle Farm seventh, with stewards noting he raced wide before fading to be beaten three and a half lengths in a 1 Metro Win. Two back he was much better in a BM85 at this track, leading and only going under late to Blazing Harry. Wet-track record supports a place chance.

Got the result at Toowoomba last start, coming from back in the field and covering ground before beating Sir Winnie by a head at long odds. That was a better effort than his previous BM70 run, when sent out favourite and beaten a long way after being restrained and eased. Has to confirm that turnaround.

Returns from a five-month break after finishing last in the G3 Lord Mayor's Cup at Eagle Farm, beaten just over nine lengths at big odds. Her prior BM90 seventh had genuine interference, but her record around this distance is only one placing from five starts. Hard to push.
