Siding with PINHOLE (4) who was desperately unlucky in the G2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup here last time as a $6.50 chance, basically never seeing daylight and going to the line under a hold in a farcically run affair. There should be plenty left in the tank and his win at Caulfield prior was strong. 2600m here, drawn to find the running line and let rip looks a good spot. KING PEDRO (5) was only second up in that race and did beat Pinhole home narrowly, albeit with much more opportunity to do so. Two slowly run races under the belt sets up a good platform to peak. LITZDEEL (8) has been so consistent all Spring trying to win her way into the Melbourne Cup and this would be a worthy consolation. DEFIANTLY (1) was one-time Melbourne Cup favourite but came out on vet's advice. The query for him there was 3200m being too sharp, now he's at 2600m but obviously this is easier. BERKELEY SQUARE (3) was very good in the Bendigo Cup and will be running on.
