WOODLANDS (2) dig deep to score his maiden win at Wingatui when fresh in June. No go over 1600m in two starts afterwards but beaten less than 1L over 1400m last time. Suited here. BONSAI BOB (1) hasn't been seen since a couple of battling efforts in April but the start before was a dogged win at Riverton over 1400m. Danger if he can find his best. SMALL TOWN BELLE (8) loomed up on the turn and boxed on well when fresh before a similarly game effort over 14oom last start. Hasn't won since her debut in October 2022 the worry. THE HARES EARS (3) Got back and wasn't terrible in a bunched finish when fresh at Timaru last start over 1200m. This trip likely to suit better. LITTERAL (4) was caught wide just off the speed and couldn't find a finish last start at Wingatui. Better effort the start before and the pole draw may assist here.
