GALWAY REEL was much improved when running out an impressive winner of a 3m handicap chase here on his yard debut 3 weeks ago and is sure to take a bit of stopping if transferring that sort of form back to hurdles from a 4 lb higher mark. Forest Spirit and Daaris head the opposition.

Matched the best of his hurdle form stepped up markedly in trip when third (placed behind Forest Spirit) at Worcester (23f) last month, staying on. VerdictA fair stayer at best on Flat but just modest form this year and was even below that level on first outing since leaving Ian Williams (for just 2,400 gns) at Pontefract 12 days ago. No show on all 4 previous outings over hurdles but at least gets a crack at a handicap in this sphere now.
