Nice little race to kick things off. CONTRARY (3) is one of only three winners in the race. Last raced two months ago when she toyed with a Class 1 field over 2000m at Murray Bridge. Four winners have come from that race to frank the form. Freshened up so the mile looks about right. Can get the job done again. TIKKAMOS (1) impressed over 1100m first-up at Morphettville then raced a touch closer and was too strong in a 1400m BM64 at Balaklava last time. Perfectly placed out to the mile at this stage of the campaign. Serious threat with the race fitness edge. CHICA ASTUTA (2) started favourite and looked to have every chance but found one better at her latest run over 1400m at the Parks track. Looks ready for a first crack at the mile. THE OBVIOUS CHILD (5) settled last in the field of five and was never a threat in the race won by Tikkamos recently. Has only raced twice so there is plenty of scope for improvement. KOSAJI (4) went okay on debut at Sale but might need more time.
