WALLACE STATION (5) settled just off the pace and only went home one-paced last start over 1450m at Illawarra Grange. Has only raced twice so it is fair to assume there is improvement to come. Stick with him. VARJAK (2) has come from near the tail on the corner to fill minor placings at his two runs this time in work. Suited by the small field - he will be very tough to hold out. FREDDIE BASSETT (1) returns from a five-month spell. Beaten under a length first-up last prep over 1350m at Wyong then scored at his next run when elevated to the mile at Warwick Farm. This looks an ideal assignment while fresh. SEA LEVEL (4) started at $1.45 and scored as expected recently in a 1400m Tuncurry maiden. Big step up in grade but trust the O'Shea/Charlton stable has him in the right race. The chances probably end there, with SICCIUS (3) first-up from a spell a possible top four candidate.
