OAKFIELD UTAH (1) finished at the rear of a 6-horse field in town last start at Rosehill, but was not far from the money. He won here before that by a short-head, and is now reunited with Aaron Bullock, who is unbeaten when riding this gelding in 4 starts. He has to shoulder 61kg, but is still the one to beat. OAKFIELD DUKE (2) got a long way back in a good field at Port Macquarie 8 days ago and was doing his best work late over 1200m. This durable veteran loves it here, and even with a query over 1350m, he can figure in the top 3, especially if it is wet. PUERTO BANUS (3) is a consistent local gelding who saves his best for his home track, and he looked like the winner here last start before peaking on his run late, finishing second by half-a-length a fortnight ago. 1350m is a query, but don't leave him out of any combos. TAIPAN LEGEND (4) charged late and just missed by a narrow margin at Tamworth fresh up as the favourite. He improves with racing. Follow your money.
