MERCHANT REIGN (3) went straight to the front and defied all challengers when resuming over this distance at Canberra last start. Tackles a better race today but gets some welcome weight relief and is a specialist at 1200m. Sure to prove tough to catch again. SHOWTIME MAGGIE (7) came from last at one stage to finish 1.2 lengths behind Merchant Reign at Canberra last time. Probably goes back again from an awkward gate but is capable of finishing right over the top of these. CASINO SHAW (5) is back in trip after a game third at Queanbeyan recently. Loves racing down here, with two wins and three placings from five visits. Sure to be in the finish from a favourable draw. CIAO BELLA MIA (2) hasn't been beaten far at her last couple. Back in distance but likes this track and is not out of contention. MCTOMINAY (1) should improve after a modest first-up effort at Canberra.
