Verdict

SORT CHA MESS (1) is the one to beat after measuring up well at Doomben, where he led and was only run down by one late. His Moree CL3 win prior was decisive. Has enough pace to offset the wide alley and should prove tough to reel in. DEEP TIARA (4) never looked likely last time here when getting too far back but was a good winner two back in what's proven a hot form reference. Draws kind and can rebound sharply. SHAHAR (9) is another danger. She was well-backed when fourth here last start and her narrow Sunshine Coast second to Snitzstream two back reads well, especially with her strong jockey association. BETTER SWEET (3) drops out of a CL4 after charging home at Ipswich and can cause a late scare on the quick back-up, if they overdo it in front. KEMAL (10) has been much better in her last two, despite missing narrowly as favourite at the latest. Peaking now and can make a late charge under the lightweight.

Eased back from metro company after leading and holding fifth in a BM65 at Doomben, beaten just over a length by Divine Source. The Moree Class 3 win prior was dominant, beating Astapor by five lengths as favourite, and Ashley Butler is back aboard. Wide draw asks a question, but the recent form says he is the one to beat.

Hit the line strongly from well back when fourth in a Class 4 at Ipswich last week, beaten just under two lengths by Music Fever after being near the top of an open market. Two back she was unwanted in a FM BM65 at Eagle Farm and raced wide throughout. Quick back-up is the query, but she has a clear winning hope.

    Verdict
Disappointed in a BM65 at this venue last start, settling back and failing to finish off when seventh, beaten four and a half lengths. The run prior was much better, winning a BM55 at this track by a length from Lady Willpower after travelling sweetly and quickening well. Track-and-trip record keeps her right in the mix.

    Verdict
Was safely held first-up in an Open race at this venue, finishing ninth after racing keenly and failing to quicken. That was a tougher assignment, and her previous campaign included a solid Open second at Sunshine Coast behind Star Of Jamaica over 1000m. Apprentice claim gives her a place chance.

    Verdict
Was well-supported favourite when fourth in a FM Class 1 at this venue last start, beginning awkwardly and working home evenly after being near heels early. Her Sunshine Coast second prior was stronger, beaten a neck by Snitzstream after being held up in the straight. Weight relief and rider record make her a key danger.

Returns from a lengthy eight-month spell after ending last preparation with a second-last in a CG BM58 at Ipswich, beaten nine and a half lengths. He had been sound the start before when fifth at Ipswich after making ground, and he has trialled at Dalby two weeks ago. Prior win at this track gives him place appeal.

Placed first-up at this venue in a CG Class 1, but he led clearly and was run down late after beginning awkwardly and racing keenly. His previous run was a last of five in a BM62 at Gatton, beaten just over five lengths at generous odds. Minor claims only.

Went close as favourite in a BM58 at Sunshine Coast last start, finishing third and beaten a neck despite racing wide throughout. His previous fifth on soft ground at the same venue was fair without being threatening. First look at this venue, but the form is good enough for a placing.

Kept on for fifth in a FM Class 1 at this venue last start, beaten three and a half lengths after beginning awkwardly and laying in from the 400m. She was also safely held in a BM58 at Warwick the run prior, making ground without threatening. Others look stronger.

    Verdict
Returns from a six-week freshening after a fair fourth in a BM50 at Goondiwindi, beaten just over a length, but that came at picnic level and this is harder company. He was seventh in a BM55 at Kilcoy two back after beginning awkwardly and failing to finish off. Harder company and poor track record are the sticking points.

Finished last first-up in a FM Class 1 at Sunshine Coast, beaten five and a half lengths at long odds after beginning awkwardly and racing wide near the 800m. She had also been beaten the same margin at this venue before the break after racing wide throughout. Improvement is required.
