Verdict

ASILAH (13) travelled into it beautifully first up and looked the winner when she loomed into the straight, but the strong tempo just softened her late. She’s sure to have tightened up from that and a slightly more conservative ride should help, provided she isn’t left with too much to do. QUEEN’S GAMBLE (11) made light work of the heavily backed Satin Serenade here last start and now gets JMac. She’s full of confidence and is the obvious danger. The 1400m looks an ideal kick-off point for SAMARELLE (3), who produced several handy efforts last prep without breaking through. Her two trials suggest she’s come back in great order and if the pace is genuine, she can cause a headache late for her rivals. KAKADU SUNSET (7) should land handier this time for Clark after just missing the bob first up at Canterbury. Expect her to be in this for a long way.
