FIERCE LUVA (5) well bred gelding resuming. Made his debut over 1400m at Parkes with a fast finishing victory last January. Finds a very weak C2 to kick off and winning apprentice retains the ride. Will relish the strong tempo and take holding out. ITALUS (3) bounced back quickly at just his second-race start with a gritty on-pace Maiden win over 1400m at Bathurst. Looks to have further upside and has the speed to get across from the sticky gate. TAKE THE CHANCE (8) just under a month between runs at latest when she went out quickly before folding up in the straight with a tiring sixth over 1600m at Warren. Has further improvement and worth another chance. DEODEE (9) two runs back have been okay and gets her chance here with the 55kg from the good gate. Can run into the minor money. STRASSMAN (2) proven at this level and has a good record here. Fitter now and worth thought.
