Competitive race but keen to stick with the progressive AEMOND (8) up to 1400m. He ran good time winning on debut at Bendigo then did a bit wrong in behind horses here when closing well for third, unsuited staying at 1100m. Drawn wide but rolls across and with any luck he'll go close at an each way price. ZOEHRER (11) is one at big odds that can run well. He debuted in a hot maiden and ran a solid race then belted Hedjet as the $1.95 favourite with that horse since winning dominantly, albeit in maiden company. Another drawn wide but he looks capable. CALAMARI RING (12) has been closing off well over shorter trips, good behind Over The Bridge here last time. Off that, 1400m looks suitable and she'll take holding out. I AM ARIA (13) had her chance in the same race but stuck on well for a narrow second and is in the mix. EKTIFIRE (14) also brings Over The Bridge form from Bendigo then bolted in easier, not the worst at huge odds.
