BACKHANDER (8) raced on the speed then proved a shade too strong in a comparable race to this at Dubbo last start. Open to further improvement at just the third run of the campaign. Looks the one to beat again with the help of a lovely draw. DAMASCUS GATE (1) led for home but gave up rather meekly when favourite over this distance at Tuncurry last Monday. Backing-up six days later suggests all is well. Deserves another chance. SUNDAY (6) turned in a real eye-catcher two runs ago over this distance at Dubbo in a Class 2. Less effective over a mile at Bathurst last Sunday but can turn things around back at 1400m. MISS KARIS (9) came from last to finish just behind the placegetters over 1300m at Narromine a week ago. New to this distance but it looks the right option. MAID IN DUBAI (2) ran a much better race last start at Muswellbrook. The winner of four from 11 at this distance which is an impressive stat.
