Verdict

KOOL KADE (1) sets the standard after winning at Moruya as favourite, sitting just behind the lead and fighting off Hello Jack by just under a length. His prior third in a CL2 at Canberra was also strong, beaten just over half a length by Tulipwood after beginning awkwardly. Can get the job done once again. PERCHANCE (9) returns from a five-week freshening and is a genuine danger if her Kembla Grange CL1 seventh is treated with some leniency after the early bump and over-racing. She won her Mdn at Moruya the run before and has placed at this venue. FLYING MAURICE (10) is the unbeaten improver, having won on debut at Canberra by a long neck from Amahtrom despite being steadied late; 1400m is new, but the way he finished suggests he belongs in the discussion. CELESTIAL GRACE (6) was sound late when seventh at Goulburn and her third in a BM66 at this track two back gives her a credible place profile. AWESOME ARTIST (2) can resume on a positive note.

Comes off a determined Moruya win over 1200m, scoring by just under a length as favourite after travelling behind the leaders and lifting when challenged. His prior Canberra third in a Class 2 was just as solid, beaten just over half a length by Tulipwood after beginning awkwardly. Drawn better this time and with conditions to suit, he can win again.

Lifted at Goulburn last start, finishing third and beaten just under a length on soft ground after pressing forward and picking up strongly. That was a clear rebound from her BM66 second-last at this track, where she tracked the lead but could not quicken. The claim helps, but she has to repeat it.

Returns from a five-week freshening after a forgivable seventh in a provincial Class 1 at Kembla Grange, where she was bumped, over-raced and faded late when beaten three and a half lengths. She had won her Mdn at Moruya as favourite the run prior, beating Cold Mist by just under a length, and the winning rider returns. Disappointed in tougher last start, but a drop to country grade can see her return to winning ways.

Resumed with a sound fourth behind Kool Kade at Moruya, beaten two and a half lengths on soft ground after settling rearward. Her previous run came in a Class 3 at Randwick, where she was unwanted in betting, blocked early and still kept on when beaten just over four lengths. Meets that rival again and is more a place chance than a winning push.

    Verdict
Returns from a lengthy spell after ending his last preparation in the Listed VRC St Leger at Flemington, where he was well beaten by 25 lengths and unwanted in the market. He had also finished tenth in the Listed Galilee Series Final at Caulfield. Trials this time in have been super and while he's short of his best trip, he may be too classy for them in his stable debut.

Worked home from the back when seventh at Goulburn over 1600m, beaten just over three lengths without a clear excuse. The better reference is her BM66 third at this track two runs ago, when unwanted in the market but beaten just over two lengths by Superata. Back to this trip is a good move and a much better effort is expected.

Was bumped at the start at Moruya last time but still had his chance after sitting behind the leaders, finishing ninth and beaten six and a half lengths by Kool Kade. His earlier Class 1 fifth at Moruya had more merit, with interference and a sound closing effort when beaten four lengths. Others appeal more.

Resumed at this track over 1100m and finished seventh, beaten just under seven lengths after settling well back and never threatening. Her previous run was a better BM66 fifth at this venue on heavy ground, where she began slowly and picked up late behind Lightning Speed. Improvement required.

Made some late ground when second last at Cootamundra over 1200m, beaten just under four lengths after settling well back and striking early interference. That followed a heavy-track failure at Wagga, where he led but was well beaten by 22 lengths. Hard to have on his recent form.

Resumed with a fair fifth at Cootamundra, beaten just under two lengths after tracking the speed and picking up without threatening. His final run last campaign was a flat last at Albury over 2000m, where he led and offered little after the turn. Drawn wide and others make more appeal.

Finished fourth in a Class 1 at this track last start, but the margin was six and a half lengths and he was unwanted in the market at $61. His Moruya run prior was also plain, beaten just over eight lengths on heavy ground after being hampered at the start. He must find a sharper finish.

    Verdict
Created a good impression on debut at Canberra, winning a Mdn over 1200m by a long neck from Amahtrom after coming from well back and being steadied near the 200m. He was at generous odds there, so the market did not fully anticipate the win, but the closing style had substance. Looked like a good horse on debut and with natural progression, he looks a live chance getting out in trip.
