POOR OL' JOHNY RAY (3) can make a bright start for the new stable, having closed the previous campaign with consecutive thirds at Pakenham Synthetic and Moe. Has trialled well in readiness and the mile looks a good kickoff for him with a handful of gear changes applied. ZEPHYR SONG (8) was only even when fifth at Doomben last time, yet her earlier half-length second reads well enough for this and she remains a strong chance if she sees out the mile. AKIRA SAN (1) has had two solid placings at this venue and had some traffic last start. Could be ready to show more. EXOBRAZEN (6) could only manage to finish eighth at his latest appearance over 1400m at this track. Likely to be thereabouts here.
