Onto the time-honoured G3 Coongy, a midweek highlight of the carnival. POUNDING (1) has to carry topweight but deserves every bit of it given his record in some top races. He resumed off a short spell in the G2 Feehan Stakes and ran on well for third behind Pride Of Jenni & Treasurethe Moment. He hasn't done a whole lot of winning lately but you can't question his desire and 2000m this level looks perfect. DARKBONEE (6) hasn't quite gone on with it since looking a Caulfield Cup horse, awful as favourite here two back then okay when wide last time. D Lane on is a positive, barrier one may not be ideal. AMBASSADORIAL (4) was okay fresh but is 2/2 over this trip including a G3 Easter Cup win earlier this year which reads well. ZIRYAB (8) drops in weight off a good BM84 win at Mornington, he'll roll forward and give a sight.
