ENGULF (10) didn't have much luck on debut at Ballarat when getting trapped away on the fence before getting home strongly late. Shouldered a handy price tag at the sales being a half sister to G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Shamal Wind (2015). Suspect she's got plenty of improvement to come and with even luck she can get off the mark this time. POCKET WATCH (5) looks an above average debutant for the sharp Grahame Begg yard. The Tagaloa colt has been fitted with three jumpouts on track Micky Dee takes the ride. Has the right grounding to make an immediate impact. VESPERS (9) resumes. Her Pakenham placings last campaign and a recent jumpout here make her a genuine threat if forward enough. GANGLAND (3) was beaten as an odds-on favourite on debut, but a Ballarat jumpout win and first-time blinkers give him scope to return sharper. Not underestimating.
