Verdict

Forgiving STORMLAND (1) after a plain effort Doomben. The return to easier company, 3kg claim and stronger broader ratings give him a clear platform to rebound. BETTER NOT SLIP (8) is the obvious danger after resuming with a BM62 win at this track, beating Cryptic Beauty by half a length as a well-supported favourite. She rises in grade, but second-up improvement is a natural plus. HERMAN SAID (5) brings a different form line, having won a CL3 at Scone before a close BM64 fifth at Newcastle. At peak fitness now and can give this a big shake. CRYPTIC BEAUTY (6) has been runner-up at her past two, gets weight relief and can bridge the small gap on Better Not Slip. WARRIOR BAE (7) is knocking on the door and doesn't need to improve much to land the blow. Inside draw draw see him settle closer.

    Verdict
Resumed with a well-supported BM62 win at this track, beating Cryptic Beauty by half a length after travelling sweetly and finishing off strongly. Her previous Doomben fourth in a Class 1 came on soft ground and reads soundly enough for this. Class rise is there, but she has upside and winning momentum.

    Verdict
Has put together consecutive seconds, most recently beaten half a length by Better Not Slip in a BM62 at this track after racing wide and still finishing strongly. She had earlier gone under by only a head at Sunshine Coast in a BM65, so the form is honest. Must turn the tables on Better Not Slip to win.

    Verdict
Eased back from mid-week company after finishing last in a Class 3 at Doomben, beaten just over seven lengths behind Spiethtacular without offering a late excuse. His Eagle Farm fifth prior came as a well-supported favourite after an awkward start, and the 3kg claim offsets the top weight. Top chance if he produces his better form.

    Verdict
Worked home nicely for fourth in a Class 1 at Doomben first-up, beaten just under three lengths behind Cardonette after settling well back. He had placed in Open grade at Doomben before that, albeit beaten just over four lengths. The move into easier company from that latest mid-week run is helpful, and he can land in the money if he builds on the resumption. Keeping safe in the minors.

Steps from country grade into harder company after going down by a nose in a Class 3 at Lismore, where he knuckled on jumping and was pipped late by Jukebox In Siberia. His previous Lismore third was also solid as favourite, beaten just over half a length behind Swifties. Doesn't need to improve much to land the blow.

    Verdict
Had excuses when sixth in a Class 4 at this track last start, racing wide throughout and being steadied before closing off from the rear to be beaten three and a half lengths. He had won a BM65 at Toowoomba the run prior, beating Jacka Stands Alone with something in hand. That gives him some claims, but he still has to turn those closing efforts into a sharper result at this level. Can fill a minor spot.

Was far from disgraced when fifth in a BM64 at Newcastle, beaten a length and a half by Puerto Banus after settling just off the lead. That followed a determined Class 3 win at Scone, where he beat Beaumista by a nose as favourite on soft ground. Strong winning hope.

    Verdict
Second-up after an eighth in a Class 4 at this track, where he raced wide throughout and was beaten just under four lengths by Propaganda. The run prior was a narrow Ipswich second behind Blazing Harry on soft ground, so there is a better performance in the profile. Even so, he is unplaced from two starts at this venue and has to improve sharply to trouble the main chances. Looking to others for the winner.

Comes off a seventh in a Class 3 at Doomben where he was slow away, unwanted in the market and beaten six and a half lengths by Spiethtacular. His previous Eagle Farm fourth had more merit, making late ground from an awkward start on soft going. Place claims look fairest.

    Verdict
Third-up after a seventh in a country Class 1 at Lismore, where he led to the turn and worked home evenly when beaten just under three lengths by Bellarata. He was also beaten just under five lengths as favourite at Ipswich two back, so recent form is modest. Others appeal more.
